It has designed to serve the nation, to keep our country oppressive free from external attacks and invasions. It’s not all about flying high fighter planes for thrill and joy. Scope and Opportunities

The major constituent of Air Force is the aircraft, both for defence and offence. The aircraft is complemented and supplemented by ground defence missiles. Hence, the entire service is engaged in the flying of aircraft and the Pilot is the key person in the organization. For operational readiness of the flying machines, infrastructural strength of highly trained and qualified man power is required. Other than the officers in flying branch, the Ground Duty Branch is constituted by the following:

  2. Logistics Branch
  3. Administrative Branch
  4. Accounts Branch
    1. Administrative Officer
    2. Air Traffic Controller Officer
    3. Fighter Controller
  5. Education Branch
  6. Meteorology Branch

Job Profile

Role and responsibility if the Indian Air Force is to take care of air defense of the country, ensuring both offensive and defensive roles. It is the duty of Air force to do vital installations of strategic importance to the country.

There are three branches in Air force:

  1. Flying Branch. A Fighter pilot is required to fly a combat or fighter planes which will carry ammunition and missiles
  2. Technical Branch. The Technical branch gives engineering support and is responsible for the engineering equipment and weapons systems of the air force.
  3. Administrative Branch. The Administrative Branch includes all the departments that provide logistical, meteorological, educational and administrative support to the flying and technical branches.
