Scope and Opportunities

At large Indian Army takes the entire responsibility to defend the territorial integrity of the country against all kinds of external aggressions, invasions and internal disturbances. During war time situation the army is responsible to protect the national land boundaries. During peace time it provides a helping hand to the civil authorities during natural calamities and maintenance of law and order when ever required.

The Indian Army is mainly divided into combat arms and services. The combat arms includes: the infantry, the artillery, and the armored corps, The Corps of Engineers and Corps of Signals. Whereas, services includes: Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps, Army Postal services, Army Medical Corps, Army education corps, Intelligence Corps and So on. The latter provides logistics support to the fighting forces.

Combat arms are responsible for actual combat, whereas, services are responsible to ensure continuous flow of required ordnance including food and clothing for men, varied vehicles and tanks and arms and ammunition.

All courses are free boarding and lodging without any fees. Entry into the armed forces is through service selection board exams, interview, psychological and physical testing after graduation in various categories. It can be technical or non technical, short service or permanent upto 52 years of age. After one year of intensive training you get the commission as an officer.
