- Compile and analyze test information to find out process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
- Confer with engineers and scientists to conduct analysis of research projects, understand test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
- Direct, coordinate and advise personnel in test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of materials.
- Make changes in composition of substances by introducing heat, energy, light and chemical catalysts for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Write technical papers, reports and prepare standards and specifications for processes, tests, products and facilities.
- Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for laboratory staff to conduct test.
- Study various methods of processing, preserving and packaging of components and its effect on composition and properties of food.
