Market Size in India :

India’s passenger* traffic stood at 293.99 million in FY20 (till January 2020) where domestic passenger traffic reached 235.44 million and International passenger reached 58.55 million.
To cater to the rising air traffic, the Government of India has been working towards increasing the number of airports. As of March 2019, there are 137 operational airports in India. As of November 2019, 680 airplanes were in-service in the fleet of scheduled Indian operators.
Due to rise in demand in air travel, India will need 2,380 new commercial airplanes by 2038. India is expected to have the largest number of aircraft flying by its scheduled airlines latest by December 2019. Aeronautical engineering is mainly divided in to two parts which are Outerspace aeronautical engineering & atmospheric aeronautical engineering. Outerspace engineers are required to focus on earth’s atmosphere which is space. They are required to put satellites, deep space projects into space and space shuttles etc.

Atmospheric aeronautical engineers are required to be in airplanes, jets and helicopters. Keeping a plane/helicopter in sky is highly important task for them to do. They may be involved in the development of the Jets/remote pilot equipment and military equipment.

These days Aeronautical engineering is the highly paid career option. An average start salary of an aeronautical engineer is between Rs. 1.5Lk to Rs. 3.0Lk per annum. The Salary is also dependent on the reputation of institute you are passed from, your domain skills and your academic excellence. With a experience a highly skilled engineer may get a salary of Rs. 40,000/- to 1.25 Lakh per month. An approximate starting basic pay scale in government sector may be from Rs.8.000/- to Rs. 10,000/- per month. But those working in research and development may get from Rs. 12,000/- to 18,000/- as a basic pay scale.
